Blue Synergy Attends the Final BIOSYSMO General Assembly in Florence
Blue Synergy recently participated in the final General Assembly of the BIOSYSMO project, held in Florence, Italy, marking the last consortium meeting on-site before the project reaches its conclusion later this summer.
The meeting brought together project partners to review the progress achieved throughout the project, discuss the remaining activities and align on the final steps towards the successful completion of BIOSYSMO. It also provided an opportunity to reflect on the scientific, technological and sustainability advances generated through the consortium’s collaborative work.
Representing Blue Synergy, our Sustainability Engineer, Patricio Ivan Cano Santana, participated online, presenting the work carried out by our team in the areas of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Life Cycle Costing (LCC), Social Life Cycle Assessment (S-LCA) and Social Impact Assessment. These activities have supported BIOSYSMO in evaluating the environmental, economic and social performance of the innovative technologies developed within the project, providing valuable insights to strengthen their sustainability and future implementation.
Meanwhile, our Social Researcher and Communications Specialist, Julio Morales Daza, attended the General Assembly in Florence, contributing to the discussions with project partners and participating in the final coordination activities. During his visit, Julio also attended the ALL4BIOREM clustering event organised by the pHYBi Project as part of the BioRemid 2026 conference, where several European initiatives exchanged experiences and explored opportunities for collaboration in the field of sustainable bioremediation and circular bioeconomy.
As BIOSYSMO approaches its conclusion, Blue Synergy is proud to have contributed to a project that has combined scientific excellence with sustainability principles to address complex environmental challenges. Our work has helped ensure that environmental, economic and social considerations have been integrated into the project’s innovation process, supporting the development of solutions with long-term value and impact.
We would also like to congratulate all BIOSYSMO partners for their commitment, professionalism and collaborative spirit throughout the project. Working alongside IDENER.AI, Universidad de Burgos, Jožef Stefan Institute, Leitat Technological Center, Université Marie et Louis Pasteur, CIIMAR, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, AXIA Innovation GmbH, CNRS, TAUW, EXELISIS IKE and Imperial College London has been a rewarding experience that demonstrates the strength of European research and innovation when diverse expertise comes together towards a common goal.
Although the project is nearing its end, we are confident that the knowledge generated, the technologies developed and the partnerships established through BIOSYSMO will continue creating positive impact well beyond the project’s lifetime.
