Blue Synergy conducted the third and final SECRETed Social Awareness Workshop in Seville, Spain
On February 24th, 2025, Blue Synergy conducted the third and final Social Awareness Workshop of the SECRETed in Seville, Spain; an event that allowed all participants to get to know the project, understand some of the science behind it and get a glimpse at a real-life application case. Blue Synergy’s sustainability engineer, Sebastián Ospina, was in charge of presenting some of the conferences.

With the objective of raising awareness about the benefits of Research and Innovation, and Sustainability, the workshop welcomed Microbiology and Biomedicine students from Universidad de Sevilla. The students had the opportunity to listen to short conferences on the microbiology, genetics and sustainability in SECRETed, as well as an overview of the project.

After the overview, the conferences focused on two main topics: first, the microbiology and genetics behind SECRETED, led by Dr. Montserrat Argandoña and PhD Candidate Tania Antón from Universidad de Sevilla; and second, a case study on siRNA encapsulation with biosurfactants led by Sebastián Ospina, from Blue Synergy. After the conferences, the students used the remaining time to ask questions, a valuable exchange for their academic development and for the goals of the social awareness workshop.

Blue Synergy is grateful to Dr. Argandoña and Universidad de Sevilla, a partner of SECRETed, for offering the space for the workshop. This opportunity not only allowed for raising social awareness but for shaping the future of sustainable, scientific research in Spain.
